Visual Composer css

I seem to be having an issue using the “visual composer” plugin that came with the theme. It was working at first but now when I try to add or edit any custom css (with the button on a post/page etc) the save button does nothing. I have to close it out with the [x] button. I haven't installed any new plugins that would conflict but I did disable everything but "VC" and the problem still persisted. I haven't had any luck finding anyone with the same problem as me online or a fix.
