Customize is leading to 404

I'm going to Appearance->Customize, but the URL is taking me to a 404. The customize.php page doesn't exist. I've tried from the backend menu and tried also to type the URL manually, but it doesn't work. Please assist.

    Hello there:-)

    It sounds like you could have memory issues and your hosting is redirecting you to 404. Try disabling not essential plugins.
    Problem might also be in your WordPress memory limit(but this is just pure guess) -> https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

    I have deactivated all plugins that are not used, still not helping. Will contact my hosting provider and ask for assistance. Will let you know.

    Hi again. We've now increased the PHP memory from 128 MB to 256 MB. Still I am getting Error 404 when going to /wp-admin/customize.php - I switched template to another one, then it worked. When switching back to the FatMoon template, then it gives me an error. Please help.

    OK, that is strange

    Could you please send me temporary access to your WordPress and FTP so I could check there what is going on? Send it here on forum via private message(click on my nick, in top-right corner you will find option "Message"). In message please attach LINK to topic it applies to.

    By sending access to WordPress I mean:
    -create new ADMIN account with fake e-mail
    -set some password to this account
    -send me created login and password

    This Topic has solved? Im the same problem! This Error is Redux Framework only FatMoon. With my others themes is ok.

    Hello:-)

    Yes it was solved. In then end it was server issues. Client send question to hosting provider why there is 404 error when entering customizer and he got such response:

    The error was "Output filter: Response body too large (over limit of 4048000"
    They increased it and it works now.


    In your case it can be different thing but try it.
