Updating thirteen theme installation problem

Hello.
I had a problem with the update the thirteen theme by the wp-admin panel. So I uploaded it via FTP. After that I got this warning Warning - directory /var/www/levslutsky/data/www/test.levslutsky.com/wp-content/themes/thirteen/user is not writable.
As well I was unable to update the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin. I tried to deactivate him but cannot upload.
Before theme installation, i have not able to upload plugins via wp-admin as well and did using FTP.
Can I ask you for any suggestion how to solve the issue?
Before the installation, i made a backup.

Either create this directory by FTP, or make it writable also by FTP.

Maybe there is some restrictions on your server, that forbids plugins upload by panel. That would be strange, but anyway contact your server admin about it.
About updating WPBakery Visual Composer - please disable it before proceeding with update it by admin Panel, cause VC has some update mechanism that block updates from theme - annoying I know :-)
If that is still not the case then do it by FTP as usual.

If some of embeded plugins fails on install you can go to thirteen/advanced/plugins and install every plugin(zip file) from there manually, by wordpress panel http://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Installing_Plugins
