Google font - local load

Apollo 13 Rife 2.4.15
only local font - Google Raleway

Dear support,
because of european law i have followed Your instruction to use google fonts with local files.
https://google-webfonts-helper.herokuapp.com/fonts/raleway?subsets=latin
https://rifetheme.com/help/docs/customizing-the-theme/general-settings/fonts-settings/

In the customizer only raleway is used.

If i have a look in the browser (developer, network, font) i see the fonts loading locally and two fonts loading from google:

Stylesheet - https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=raleway:200,300,400,500,600,700|raleway:300,400,500,600,700|raleway:300,400,500,600,700|raleway:700&subset=latin,latin,latin
Font - https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/raleway/v28/1ptug8zys_skggpnyc0itw.woff2

They are found with an external checker too:
https://sicher3.de/google-fonts-checker/

The filename is strange. The family is raleway.
1ptug8zys_skggpnyc0itw.woff2

Do you have a clou?

Kind Regards

    Hey :-)

Could you send me a link to the website where it happens, so I could check which part of the website loads those fonts?

    With kind regards.

    Hey :-)

In the Customizing → General settings → Fonts settings , you have to set all fonts to normal to Standard fonts, as the theme cannot know that you have overridden fonts location and will load fonts from google anyway.

Next, you have to set proper fonts for group of elements as explained in in point 7 here https://rifetheme.com/help/docs/customizing-the-theme/general-settings/fonts-settings/#using-custom-font-from-font-file

Below(in the documentation) you have CSS for a various groups of elements.

    With kind regards.
  • Thx, its working now. Fonts are loaded locally.

Does it slow down loading if i set in the customizer-custom CSS all possible raleway font wights?
    /* raleway-200 - latin */ ... /* raleway-300 - latin */ ... /* raleway-400 - latin */ ...

    Hello :-)

I believe that each font weight adds to the size of the font to download. However, I also believe that today browsers only download weights that are really used on the website.

So you should be fine :-)

    With kind regards.
