Set static page as homepage (problem)

Hello,
Im trying to set a static page as the home page. I made a new page template that just calls for the header, revolution slider, and footer. When its not set as the home page it looks perfect. However when its set as the home page for some reason the theme insert the page title in the top left corner and the content div. Anyway to fix this? i like the build in galleries for photos and videos just need one on the home page that allows clickable images (to redirect to different site).

    Update: when using

    body.home #mid{
        display: none;
    }

    The slider doesnt show.
