Problems with youtube AND self hosted Video (mp4)

Hello,
1. My youtube-Video doesn´t start playing in my Video-Album. It seems to load, but nothing happens
2. My mp4-video which I uploaded starts playing, but the start/Pause-button, the fullscreen button and the volume-button at the bottom doesn´t work. Can you help?
Testet on Safari and chrome on a mac with mountain Lion.

Thanks for the help! I will try to use the kind of links you mentioned, but if i want HD-Video there has to be "hd=1" at the end of the youtube-link. Does this mean, that I can´t use 720p or 1080p - links from Youtube or Vimeo?

You can only suggest that Youtube should serve your video in HD, but it will still decide on this depending on current user abilities(connection speed for example). So in short even if you could use this parameter it doesn't make any difference cause final user decides:-) I have explained this more here http://support.apollo13.eu/discussion/comment/2331#Comment_2331
