Blog in Homepage - trouble having selected menu

Hi there !
I'm very glad of the theme "beach please" (great work guys !), and i come across something i can't fix :
- i'm trying to use the "blog" as the landing page. Ok, wirks.
- I want a menu item to go back to the "homepage" (logical) but when i do so in the menu editor i don't have the fontawesome icon.
- To make life easier, i'm ok with having a page only for the blog… and on the homepage well, having a page with some text, AND the latest articles (so, not the exact same page).

I juste can't figure how to do that.
Any help would be appreciated !

Hello, and thanks for kind words:-)

You can have both: blog as hompage and different page :-)
If you configured your theme as here http://apollo13.eu/docs/beach/#!/adding_frontpage then you can select icon for blog page.

Then in here http://apollo13.eu/docs/beach/#!/main_settings_menu_what_to_show_on_front_page you can select Blog to display as fornt page:-)

I managed to do it, unfortunately the "menu" is not selected, ok… but i cannot have a text written on the homepage + the news listing. I guess i'll have to create a new template page just for the homepage right ?

I think it is dependent on what page you have linked in menu and on which(of two I explained in previous post) you are now on.

Is there something like this in our demo, or it is just your fancy wish?:-)

I believe that you can edit home.php to edit "blog template".

In other news, discovered what could be called a "bug" : if you start a post note with a dropcap, the letter won't show up in the post excerpt or generated excerpt, even with a regular font style.

Yes, you can post it to wordpress group ;-) It is normal, shortcodes are not parsed in excerpts, but there are parsed if you use more tag http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
