Blog Page - posting a gallery, turn off 2 column text?

Love the theme. I'm writing a blog post and wanted to insert a gallery, but for some reason the gallery was being split into 2 columns like the text. I'm inserting the gallery by "adding media" and creating gallery. I've tried separating the gallery into a table, I've tried clear: both; but it keeps splitting. Is there a way around this? Is there a way to turn off the 2 column text for blog posts?

I believe you will have to remove dividing to columns for big screens http://support.apollo13.eu/discussion/comment/4389#Comment_4389
