Blog Post Problem

edited October 2013 in Spaceship Posts: 19
Hi Air,
I am having trouble getting my blog post to show properly. I have followed instructions and set front page to static etc - see attached image. I have created a post with settings as shown in 2nd picture. The Appearance/Menu is set up with Blog. But... only the text of the blog post shows, none of the pictures and not the background image. If I preview the post it shows properly, however if I click blog on the live page most of the content is missing.
Probably something really simple that I have missed but I have been playing around for about 3 hours now and simply cannot find anything to fix it.
Many thanks in advance.
Adrian

    Hi

First - live link to issue.
Second - you want to set up blog or just single post? Setting up single blog post is rather rare.
If you wish to set up blog as your front page then http://apollo13.eu/docs/spaceship/#!/main_settings_menu_what_to_show_on_front_page

Thanks for the reply. Here is a link to the page that comes up: under blog:

I would like to setup a normal blog so that I can add entries every couple of days by way of 'new post'.

I have followed the instructions as per your link as you can see from the first image I attached.

If so, then what you have selected under option "What to show on front page?" ? You didn't show this on you screen shots:-)

I am not quite sure where I do that? Do you mean within the Pages and edit the page I called 'front page'? If you mean within Spaceship/Theme/Main Settings/Front Page then that is not what I want to do as the blog I want to create is not for the main element of the website. Does that make sense?
I am trying to achieve the same element as the blog page on your theme. The 'front page' of your theme example is an album list.

    Hope you can help.
Best wishes and thanks for your patience.

    OK, sorry for misunderstanding earlier.
So OK, I see there is post on your blog page. Do you have more posts?
For me it works good, maybe you just misunderstood how it should work :-) Add more posts, check our demo, add featured images to posts and it will look much better. What you see now is post excerpt, as there should be listed more posts, and not all should be fully visible from start(personal opinion).

Under this section in documentation http://apollo13.eu/docs/spaceship/#!/adding_new_posts_pages there are some links that will lead you to guide how does posts work in wordpress.

Also test setting about post excerpt in here http://apollo13.eu/docs/spaceship/#!/main_settings_menu_blog

Got it. I needed to choose manual instead of automatic in Blog settings under:

    Spaceship Theme/Main Settings/Blog!

Here is what it looks like now: http://www.adriancampbellhoward.com/blog-2

Now all I need to do is to get the images into just one column and to only show a summary of the blog rather than the whole thing with the option to expand the blog posts if reading. Is that possible?

    Many thanks

    Divide them with 'enter'.

That is what you had before. Seriously, please read documentation about adding post in Worpdpress. There is also part about excerpts and others. This is core of wordpress, not part of theme:-)

    With regards.
