Portfolio on Front Page

I set up the portfolio like it said to in the documentation guide and it works fine on the portfolio page but the feed doesn't show up on my homepage. However, the blog page shows up on the frontpage just fine and i set it up the exact same way

no I haven't I will try that thank you so much! I was also wondering why the image wasn't showing up in the individual portfolio posts though? for example: http://junkinthetrunkvintagemarket.com/portfolio/painting/

I uploaded an image an assigned it to the post but it doesn't show up. the thumbnail image works fine but the large image doesn't show up in the post.
