Im not sure what exactly do you want to achieve but I will try to explain some things 1) Yes, you can remove the slider and replace it with the ROW made with the Visual Composer. 2) You can also add a buttons to any Slider and add specific link to any page with anchor. 3) If you want to link with anchor to any ROW you must create ID. Take for a example this about page: http://nimb.ws/TMFIlu . If you want to link any button to this ROW you must add the "bio" ID and then add this ID to the link: http://rifetheme.com/fatmoon-rhodes/about-me/#bio
