CHILD THEMES | Not Needed Today, But What About the Future???

in Rife Posts: 6
Hello,

I plan on building basic, modern and functional websites for myself and clients using RifePro + Elementor Page Builder.

My plan is to limit the design/site features functionality to ONLY what's included in the Theme Options/Elementor.

With this is mind, a child theme should NOT be necessary, BUT, if a client needs some special touch/thing done that's only possible via editing theme files, then is it (1) easy to switch to a child theme later??? ...or should I just (2) start with a child theme today? ...and (3) are there any negatives e.g. slow speed, poor SEO results...to using a child theme???

Thanks
Rick

    Hello Rick :-)

Child theme has none of such downfalls. It is almost invisible outside. You can only notice it outside cause it uses one more CSS file(for CSS modifications) but this can be switched off with a simple change.

You can activate the child theme whenever you want to add some modification.

So work in peace of mind :-)

    With kind regards.
