The best would be to use the "normal variant" as default, and choose light or dark variant whenever you need it. Of course, you will have to adjust those variant settings :-)

For such thing best is to use header color variants that are explained here https://rifetheme.com/help/docs/customizing-the-theme/header/variant-light-dark-overwrites/
