Favicon file formats in Customizer

in Rife Posts: 67
Hi Air and team,

I tried to upload a favicon in .svg and .ico format via Customizer > Site identity, but it seems that only .jpg and .png formats are allowed. Just confirming if in this case I will need to do the following:

1. Manually add the favicon to the root directory.
2. Copy header.php to Child theme folder.
3. Add the link rel code to header.php in the Child theme folder. Is there a specific line where I should be inserting the code?

Thank you in advance!

    Hey there:-)

After a quick search, I believe that if you really need SVG or ICO format then yes, you will have to edit files. There is no best line :-D but just before line 28 </head> it should be good.

However, maybe if you would add plugin that adds support for SVG format to WordPress, then you could use it as SVG - not tested by me :-)

    With kind regards.
