Fitting full screen album view within the layout

In full album view (not set to background, just the full album view) I would like to be able to fit the images within the layout, so that when you go to the page you dont have to hide the layout to see the whole image. It is somewhat a bummer that the images are always "cropped"/"blocked" by the layout. I would rather just have them appear within the layout and not be behind the header or footer.

What can I do to keep the image container between those elements, instead of behind them? I am hoping it just takes a modified CSS file.....

still having trouble, i just tried replacing the code witht the code in the post you showed me, but nothing changed. im just going to appearance editor in wordpress and replacing that element....what am i doing wrong...?
