Text directly on background image

edited March 2013 in Spaceship Posts: 37
Is it possible to have some pages on your site where you can have text shown directly on your background image. How do I custom each page for this.

Specifically I'd like to get rid of the black text box background on this page (http://www.jenniferblyth.com/repertoire/) but keep it on others such as this page (http://www.jenniferblyth.com/biography/)

Thanks in advance

    Hello:-)

    If you know page id then you can use such custom CSS

    .page-id-60 #content{
    display: none;
    }
    This is CSS for http://www.jenniferblyth.com/repertoire/

    Hope this helps.

    With regards.

    Thank you but how am I now able to write text immediately over that image. Now none of my text shows up on the page at all. Do I have to make my text box transparent somehow.

    Also I keep trying to make the background to my whole site black but it remains white no matter what color I change the custom background color in Appearance to.

    Thank you for your patience - I am not very good at this and I appreciate your help.

    I think I am lost in what you wish to achieve so lets break it down. Could you link site on our demo ( http://themes.apollo13.eu/spaceship/ )where I could see effect you like to get?

    About you background color -it is not working cause you have inserted wrong code for google font and it breaks CSS. Delete it, or try again following this steps http://apollo13.eu/docs/spaceship/#!/fonts_menu

    With regards.

    Thanks so much for your help and patience.

    I fixed the wrong CSS.

    I'd like to be able to produce the effect on the albums page http://themes.apollo13.eu/spaceship/album/album-four-vertical-fit/ on Photo 1, 3 and 7 where you are able to view the photo behind the text. Is it possible to produce the same effect on a page where I might publish a list of my repertoire over the existing photo on this page but so you can still see the photo on http://www.jenniferblyth.com/repertoire/

    Again - thank you

    Hello

    No it is not possible to use texts in background album, as it will interfere with main text and be not good practice at all and it will only hurt experience of your visitors. I advise to create two separate pages:
    1. normal album with texts as you wish
    2. page with list of my repertoire

    With regards.
