Homepage -- possible to populate with photos from each album?

So right now the default is that the homepage pulls a single featured image from each album....is there any way to have more images pulled, while still making each image linkable to its respective album?

    Interesting idea I must say:-)
    But it will not be as easy to achieve. It would require quite number of changes in code and testing.
