Sharing single images on facebook

edited December 2013 in Hypershot Posts: 30
Hi!

I don't really understand the sharing function provided on every album image. If I hit the share button on a particular photo in my gallery I want to share only this photo (this is what the function is meant for isn't it?). But instead the only thing that is send to facebook is my description text from the info bar. Is there a possibility to share single images from an album or is it planed in a future release of the theme? Because else I don't get why I need the sharing button on every photo.

For now my way of sharing is to upload a photo to facebook and copy and paste the link to the corresponding gallery into the post. But that's some kind of workaround :P
I just wondered why there is a sharing function on every image when it won't share THIS image.

Maybe I have to mention, that I don't use pages or posts on my site. I'm a photographer and only use Albums. Because I guess sharing would work with single posts but that's not an option for me
Here is my URL in case you want to have a look: http://www.kevin-schuenemann.de/

thanks!

  • Oh and if the sharing of a single image isn't possible... is there a way to at least choose a picture that will be shared with the link (description)? Shared links get more attention if a picture is included. Usually that's the case if you paste a link (from any website) into a facebook post.

I have checked and what is send is link to particular photo, to its attachment page. Just as you said:-) Facebook may want also to take some text content, but this rather their or AddThis field.

Yup, in your case it is also same, it redirects to attachment page of current photo http://www.kevin-schuenemann.de/album/featured/fullscreen_rina_0001/

    With regards.
  • Hi Air!

Yep that's right... but is there no way to show that photo on facebook? Because no photo is send to facebook only the text. The text is changeable, so no problem here. But it would be nice, if you can actually see the photo not only the link to it.
And what I dont like about the attachment page is, that one can click on the full resolution link where you get the photo with no restrictions for downloading it. Because on my homepage I use them without any watermark.
I know you could make a screenshot and blah to save pictures from everywhere. But to disable the right click feature keeps most people from saving it because the effort is bigger with it ;)

So the question would be: Is it possible to don't show the link to the full resolution picture or simply to remove all whats underneath the photo on the attachment page?

I see photo clearly :-) But when I share via mail. Hmmm I will investigate why it doesn't show while sharing via facebook.

Personally I got higher blood pressure:-) when I see right click block, as it disable all other browser features for me. I wrote about it many times here on forum https://www.google.com/?q=site:support.apollo13.eu+what+are+you+searching+for#q=site:support.apollo13.eu+"right+click"

When you block right click, then I press F 12, and get even more then I needed:-)
